Spine of the Earth 2012! Was part of this performance art piece- probably one of the weirdest (but coolest) things I’ve ever done. It’s the Pacific Standard Time remaking of the original Spine of the Earth that was set in the desert- except this one was set in Baldwin Hills at this breathtaking scenic overlook in LA. The gist of it is that a skydiver lands at the top of the overlook and catalyzes this chain reaction of people in red jumpsuits who rhythmically move in a spiral and then unspiral and down the hill. These are the shots down the hill, with some taken by a helicopter. It took forever to get the walking right (we had to get there at 7 am, and the performance was at 12) and it was really difficult not to trip while going down the steep hill. Somehow we managed to do it, and the results as you can see are amazing.
